Professional Dance is designed to prepare students for a career in Dance. This course requires that students already have the basic knowledge of dance. Students will be exposed to many different aspects of the industry, including auditions, portfolios, agents, negotiating salary, competitions, performing, etc. Students will be introduced to ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, ballroom, etc. The course will include one live performance.
Students receive up to 360 hours of classroom instruction.
Integrated throughout the course are career preparation and academic content standards, which include basic skills, communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety, technology, and other employment skills.
